Sunshine
The earth is alive
With music, with life
The world is painted anew
From the stinging effects of terrorism
We combated, with cradling more terrorism
The hatred between brethren
Has now been to construct a barrier between US and Mexico
The difference between right and wrong
Is, having a gun permit, but having that same gun within a child’s reach
The world is watching, as the market economy plunges to the bottom
As the money, either being spent or being saved to be spent, is being spent by the lobbyists
I shudder at society
Not knowing whether future generations will be safe
The moon shines over the land, making it morning
With a crack of red, the sun paints the sky anew

Interpreting Humanity Through Haikus!
Eden’s Garden
Life is an apple
With its outer red exterior, it stirs
A triumph, a sorrow
Wriggles around, within this red…
A worm lives!
The apple’s core is inside this red fruit
Holding the seeds for future apples,
The seeds are secure, for their future growth and development.
Now tunneling out of the apple, the worm has now left a nice circular hole,
The seeds succumbing to the great wind,
As man is great
As man is evil
Faerie Dust

A finger is over my mouth,
Two palms are over my eyes!
I skip on over to the happy forest
Babbling with green, the sunlight plays upon the glossy green of a leaf
The colors of the earth alive,
I am suddenly caught in the arms of my playmate
Picking me up and twirling me around
I am enveloped into this moment
A jovial bliss, I am finally on the ground
And suddenly, I cannot talk
I cannot see
I ask what is going on.
The queen approaches, her light footsteps felt by all
A shimmer of light transcends these palms over my eyes
Of gold, of silver, I am suddenly surrounded
Not by one, but by many
Finally able to open my eyes, I find the forest transformed
Into light, into happiness
Flowers spring up, birds sing, trees dance
As my playmate is a faerie
As his mother, the queen of all faeries embraces me
Making me a faerie princess,
I find that dreams
Do come true!

Silent Minds Give Way to Loud Hearts
You are silent
With those wide set eyes, you move me
How did it happen,
That my heart is loud, but my mind is silent
Your legs move, you run past me
And yet it turns out that in reality you are only walking
How did the silence of the atmosphere around us turn SO silent all of a sudden?
As if we are trapped in a moment that can never leave us,
Where is the loudness that consumes an ordinary day?
Traffic moving and people hastily crossing the streets…
The Babbling of languages in giving everyday directions…
The news that comes on CNN…

4 Chambers of the Mind

The Smiling Box
She touched the small box in her pocket and smiled. It was what she wanted for a long time, as she always made a point of passing the "Nature and Outdoor recreation" store, thoughts of this fluttering in her playroom always consumed her mind. Spring time, a time for remembering one's own longing and a loved one's sacrifice, was the holiday in which she finally received the Box of Wonder. She untied the pastoral green and pink ribbon box, and seeing this Gift of God inside this square wooden box filled her with delight!
She, a young girl of ten, had to live life to the fullest. Her playroom at home was a small container that had stuffed animals, Barbie Dolls, and counting blocks from her past childhood years. She had a wide range of Barbie Dolls, from a doll who was a lifeguard to a Barbie who was a dentist. Dogs and cats were her favorite animals, so she had a wide array of tigers to beagles in her storage bin. Besides her playroom which didn't have a window to let in light, her whole house was dark, for they lived in a metropolis. Each day she was found to be indoors, for she had no other desire to explore the vast city she lived in. The neighboring kids were impossible to befriend, as they threw numerous amounts of eggs at her as she was walking on the sidewalk and even at her window when she was in the car with her parents. She therefore stayed inside all day and either studied her school materials, read for pleasure, or played with her toys. She was at least advanced for her age academically, even reading a novel on her own—an ability that no other child her age could do. The counting blocks, once used to aid her in everyday counting, was now hindering her ability to remain young forever.
Like the beautiful sight of a rainbow that comes after a rainfall, so to did a Ulysses Butterfly fly out from the wooden box and fly into the blue sky one spring morning. Morning was approaching quickly, and somehow this morning was different from other mornings. Light was permeating itself through every crack of the house, shining on the stuffed cats and dogs. It was light that suddenly made her little boxed playroom into a jungle, and everything in it so alive and exotic. As soon as the light filtered in, a Barbie well equipped to go exploring was found springing out from beneath the play bin, anxiously awaiting this budding adventure!
Joy, or the little girl who was sad, ran from surveying her room after breakfast, and into the day. She was, after all, chasing after her runaway gift!

Back to School
I go back to school today
Textbooks, papers, and pens are packed
In that big thing we call a backpack,
As it anxiously waits to break our backs
Or to go on a piggy back ride.
The hill is steep,
The bus rolls down,
We go to school
Bullies wait,
The health office opens
Jack sees Jill
Jill breaks up with Jack
The soap opera of life bangs its fist from inside a locker
Hopes set
The heart pounding
As Tommy becomes the class president
A mixture has exploded within the lab in chemistry class.
The principal makes his announcement on the intercom
Jill is pregnant
With Jack's baby, they end their relationship
As Jack then comes out of the closet, broadcasting that he is gay
The bus, dependant on gasoline, has stopped moving
For it has run out, the bus driver's pockets having been empty from the night before
As he spent that money on lottery tickets
The chemistry experiment,
As it was laid out in steps on the internet,
Was to build an atomic bomb—
By those same bullies, for their senior prank
The bomb squad comes
The light is at the end of the tunnel

MOTHER
As she cradles her newborn
This life that has waited nine months to breathe the outside air
She reminiscences her girlhood years, remembering her girlhood filled with dreams and hopes
Enveloped into the time it took to deliver, Mother now seeks a happy life for this child-- struggling
With the maintenance of his foundation, his home, and his belongings—Mother as a mortal filled with happiness and sorrow—battles for child.
She strives for perfection, imitating the sacrifice her own mother had done for her. Relinquishing stamina and sleep, Mother will narrate her child’s history.

When April showers shower
And May flowers flower
I shall go home

Its Green Hills, the
Rolling lazily with Green
Of Glories past
Deck the picturesque landscape
As it Rolls into the clear blue sea
A blue abode of life
Schools of fish
Dart playfully among corals
Its thin, glossy fins sweeping the plants
Gracefully, one can see
The dolphins,
Happily gliding through waters
Of turquoise, here is Eglomè
My home, where the sun

Language
As summer turns to autumn,
The leaves cascade down to the earth
Two figures rise from these falling leaves
A Dancer in black and a Dancer in white
Finding their way to the center of the woods,
These dancers inscribe their identities into the cold, barren earth
Stepping through the fallen red, yellow, and green leaves
Reaching the center of the woods, they feel a sudden warmth
Vibrant with life, this earth is the opposite of its desolate outskirts
Inviting the dancers to make eye contact,
The ground begins to babble.
As the dancers stamp the ground, their creators become one
As the dancers twirl, their cultures become one
Stretching out their hands to another,
The dancers embrace
As One.
